Recipe
- Apple Pulp = 3 kg
- Salt = 100 g
- Garlic = 50 g
- Clove = 3 g
- Raisins = 200 g
- Mixed Spices = 10 g
- SMC Apple Flavour 6004 = 7 mL
- Sugar = 1.8 kg
- Onions = 400 g
- Cinnamon = 3.5 g
- Acetic Acid, Glacial = 20 mL
- Almonds = 50 g
- Red Chillies = 6 g
- Sodium Benzoate = 3 g
Procedure
- Wash, peel and remove, cores from apples.
- Cut the apples into slices with a stainless steel knife.
- Cook the slices with all ingredients except flavour, sodium benzoate, acetic acid, raisins and almonds till soft.
- Use a wooden spoon to mix and partially mash the contents.
- Add the remaining ingredients and boil the mass.
- Mix well.
- Fill the chutney into jars and close with airtight lids.
